Rutland County Audubon: Summer-Fall 2019

October 17 (Thursday) - RCAS Board of Directors Meeting

Our meetings are open to all members. Leahy Conference Center, Rutland Regional Medical Center, Room CR A. 6:30 PM. Please check back for any changes in the meeting date or place. Contact birding@rutlandcountyaudubon.org.

October 19 (Saturday) - West Rutland Marsh Monitoring Walk

A monthly bird monitoring walk. To date 155 species, from Least Bittern to Northern Shrike, have been recorded at this Important Bird Area (IBA). Join us for the 3.7 mile loop around the marsh (dirt and paved roads) or go halfway. Meet at the marsh boardwalk on Marble Street at 8 AM . Contact birding@rutlandcountyaudubon.org.

October 26 (Saturday) - Rutland Halloween Parade

RCAS will have its third annual float in the Rutland's 60th Annual Halloween Parade. Downtown Rutland, 6:30 PM.

November 2 (Saturday) - Annual Seed Sale and Membership Drive

Two locations! Stock up on seed at Garland's on Park Street in Rutland, 8 AM to 1 PM, or Brandon Blue Seal Feeds on Route 7 south of Brandon from 9 AM to 2 PM. Cash or check only. You don't have to be a member to purchase, but we would love to have you join RCAS!

November 15 (Friday) - Bird Photography by Gordon Ellmers

Join us at the Poultney Library on Main Street for a presentation of wildlife photography by Gordon Ellmers. His specialty is taking photos of birds in their natural habitats. 6 PM.

A great conclusion to a year of birding! Field team members and feeder watchers needed! Potluck supper and countdown at Proctor Library, 6 PM. Bring a dish to share (utensils and beverages provided). Contact birding@rutlandcountyaudubon.org to sign up.
