Rutland County Audubon: Spring 2018

June 21 (Thursday) - West Rutland Marsh Monitoring Walk

A monthly bird monitoring walk. To date 155 species, from Least Bittern to Northern Shrike, have been recorded at this Important Bird Area (IBA). Join us for the 3.7 mile loop around the marsh (dirt and paved roads) or go halfway. Meet at the marsh boardwalk on Marble Street [NOTE change in meeting place] at 7 AM. July 11 (Wednesday) - RCAS Annual Meeting, Potluck and Member Photo Show

Join us as we celebrate another year! A brief business meeting and election will follow a potluck supper. Bring a dish to share (beverages and utensils provided). Proctor Library, 6 PM. Following will be a member photo show. Please send any nature photos you wish to share to birding@rutlandcountyaudubon.org by July 5, limit 10 photos.

July 21 (Saturday) - Trip to the Birds of Vermont Museum

Carpool to the Birds of Vermont Museum in Huntington. Meet at the Home Depot in Rutland at 8 AM. or Otter Valley Union High School at 8:30 AM. Bring lunch. As time allows, we will hike the trails around the museum and Green Mountain Audubon Center, departing for home around 2 p.m., $7.00 per person ($6.00 for seniors and $3.50 for ages 3-17). August 11 (Saturday) - Birding the Split Rock Trail

We'll hike the relatively easy, 1.9 mile, Split Rock Trail in Pittsford through a variety of habitats to look for birds. Meet at St. Alphonsus Church on Rte 7 in Pittsford at 8 AM. (must meet at church as there is very limited parking at the trailhead). Contact birding@rutlandcountyaudubon.org
